The Treeing Walker Breeders & Fanciers Association traces its roots back to an all night meeting held in 1946 at the Arcadia, Indiana farm of Mr. Lester Nance. It was at this meeting that breed standards for what would eventually be recognized as the Treeing Walker Coonhound were debated and established. With the approval of a constitution and bylaws, as well as the election of officers, a national association devoted to supporting the breed was established.
Our mission is to create a closer relationship and to instill confidence between breeder, owner, and fancier of the Treeing Walker breed, so that we may be able to improve the breed beneficial to all concerned in accordance with the standard set forth by the United Kennel Club, Inc.
